About

Close
Two decades in the making, the Cambridge Ice Arena is now very close to being launched.

Planning permission has been granted, the site is secured, operator negotiations are concluded, the design is well developed and the supply chain is in place. Located just three miles from the city centre, the venue will be accessible to all.

The project is funded by a £3m donation and £1.85m loan from South Cambridgeshire District Council. Negotiations for the small amount of outstanding funding are advancing with other donors. However, there is still a small gap to be filled.

This website gives you the chance to get involved. Let us know if there are any activities or training and development programmes that you would like to see provided. To make a donation, please get in touch.

What the Cambridge Ice Arena Will Bring

A World-Class Venue

An international-standard ice pad for competition, training and recreation.

Central Location

Located on a site just three miles from the city centre with excellent transport links.

Green Design

Leading-edge tech. Sustainable materials. Short building program.

The Cambridge Ice Arena is a community-led initiative.

The venue will incorporate the very latest advances in design and technology so you can enjoy world-class facilities regardless of whether you are training, competing, spending time on the ice or spectating. The ice rink will provide a home for local and university teams as well as offering a range of activities for users of all ages and abilities that includes ice hockey, figure skating, speed skating and more. The vast majority of funds are now in place but we still need your help to reach our target of opening the doors by December 2017.
